# How to join + Rules

## Join the server

Join the server at <https://discord.io/boltcord>. It's **that** easy.

## Our rules

### Discord Guidelines are enforced on this server.

We'll enforce standard [Discord rules ](https://discord.com/guidelines)and [Terms](https://discordapp.com/terms).

Additionally, these rules apply:

* **No discussion about other bots**. You are allowed to use other bots in the commands channel, but you're not allowed to promote nor talk about other bots.
* **No NSFW content**. This is not a 18+ server. We do not want this kind of content in this server.
* **No policits, no racism**. If you are in the server, it is not in the purpose of discussing about politics or discriminating any other user. Read the [User Conduct Policy](/bolt/other/privacy-terms-of-use.md#user-conduct-policy) for more.
* **No advertising**. You can't promote anything in this server. You're not allowed to send advertisements to users through their DMs. You're not allowed to use Bolt or any text/voice channel in the server to promote something.
* **No spamming**. This includes all kinds of content (videos, pictures, messages, emotes, mentions)
* **Use your common sense**. Make it easy for users to understand what you're talking about. Don't use complicated words no one can understand.
* **No minimod**. Do not act like a moderator if you are not one. It will result in a ban when you reach 2nd warn/mute/kick.
* **Respect is a requirement.** There's a zero tolerance for drama, racism, hate speech towards any user.

### Moderator have the final word

If a moderator (or even a bot) tells you to stop something, then stop. **You never win arguing**.

Our moderation team may sanction you for any other reason than breaking Discord/Server rules. If you find that a punishment is unfair, DM Bolt.

### Mention Policy

We've set a Mention Policy. Read it carefully.

1. You are allowed to mention bots.
2. You are allowed to mention users when replying to them.
3. You are not allowed to spam mentions, even channels/roles.
4. You are not allowed to ping @Support for no reason.
5. You are not allowed to ghost ping someone. That means sending a mention then deleting it. We see everything in our logs and other users can snipe the channel.
6. You are not allowed to use mentions without any reason.

### Server Roles

* Bolt Bot - The bots.
* Community Manager - Staff members who manage this server.
* Dev. Manager - The manager of Bolt development.
* Developer - The name explains it.
* Support Team - The staff members who provide official help. Ping them when needed.
* Regular - The regular people, often talking with other people.
* Partner - Our nice partners :p
* Donators - Our kind donators
* Premium - Learn more [here](https://boltcord.glitch.me/pro).
* Member - The role given to all people.

### Don't ping developers if the bot is off!

Be clever and think about it. Go to our [status page ](/bolt/other/status-page.md)instead. Pinging developers is a way to make them lose time they could have spent on adding nice new features. You may get banned for this.

### Want to help?

You are free to try to solve other users' issues with the bot. If you can't solve the problem, tell users to use the modmail (DMing the bot).

### **Keep it in text channels.**

If you are being helped by someone who's telling you "add me to your server, i'll fix this", do never trust them. You don't know what they'll do. **Trust Support team only.**

We're not responsible for any damage caused by simple members.

### Don't interfere

While you are allowed to help, you are not allowed to interfere other members who are already helping the member you wanted to help.

### Other things

All appeals go to Bolt Modmail (DMs).

Do not ignore these rules unless you want to be banned.

French and English are the main language. We do not encourage anything else.

All usernames must be easily mentionable. We'll do not hesitate to change or add nicknames.

### Feedback

We appreciate users sending their feedback through Bolt DMs. It is important for us, the developers, to know whether users like a feature or not and other things.
